"Look, as misguided as that was, I knew you were just looking out for me. That's what good friends do. You see a chance to help and you do it. You don't ask for permission."
— Honey Ellis to Jessica Huang

Honey Ellis, née St. Claire, is Marvin Ellis' third and current wife, the mother of Maria and Liza, and the best friend of Jessica Huang. She is portrayed by Chelsey Crisp.

In her debut, "The Shunning", Deidre and the other neighborhood girls were gossiping about Honey, with Evan present in the room. They accused Honey of having caused the divorce of a marriage between Marvin and Sarah and getting a hair salon boycotted. At this time, Jessica was trying to fit in with people and make new friends in the neighborhood. Being the only woman in the whole neighborhood who is willing to eat her homemade tofu and like Stephen King movies as much as she does, she befriended Honey. This was all until Evan told her and Louis the news about what she did, making Louis push her not to ruin her reputation with the other girls by befriending her. Honey later on mourns that these were all regrettable mistakes that she isn't proud of, and therefore Jessica was able to see that Honey isn't such a bad person after all. Honey also served as persuading Jessica to pursue her dream of becoming a house realtor and not give up just because the real estate license exam was difficult.

In the same episode, Eddie formed an attraction to Honey and wanted to get her attention, even though this was mainly to impress his friends. After already being bullied and shunned by the other neighborhood girls, Honey was the victim of Eddie throwing cards at her the way people throw money at strippers, making her feel like that's all she's good for. After her friendship with Jessica was reconciled, she went back to Eddie and made an agreement with him. She would hug him in front of his friends, to restore his cool factor with them. So they did, and Eddie grabbed her butt, making things very uncomfortable for her. Eddie's feelings of attraction for Honey quickly ended afterwards, as Honey's stepdaughter, Nicole Ellis came back to the neighborhood, and Eddie fell in love with her.

Season 2[]

Honey began to form somewhat of a friendship with Nicole, which became strained when Nicole either rifled through her purse for money or asked Marvin for money, which prompted Marvin to tell Honey to give the money as Honey got her money from him. Honey purchased parenting books, although Jessica wondered why Honey would have to parent her, claiming that she was a stepmother and not her actual mother and therefore, in her eyes, would have to do nothing but day-drink and criticize her weight. Jessica then told her that children were not old enough to not be controlled and that they were pawns, while the mothers were the queens of the chessboard, and that Honey should just say no to Nicole next time. Honey did not want this at first, wishing to remain friends with Nicole, causing Jessica to wonder why American parents were so keen on being friends with their children. Honey attempted to follow Jessica's advice but was unable to say "no" and instead hid in the bathroom in the purse while running the shower in order to avoid the encounter. Honey later notified Jessica that Eddie was tutoring Nicole, believing it was a chess move by Jessica to trick Eddie into studying. As a result, Jessica increased the amount of tutoring students Eddie had, which led to Chris joining the class and entering into a relationship with Nicole, breaking Eddie's heart. While Jessica was unaware of this, Honey spoke with Nicole as a friend and realized what had happened, and passed the information on to Jessica.[1]

Honey later had renovations done to her house to remove Marvin's ex-wife's presence and belongings, although she kept her horse murals. She then spoke with Jenny Huang, offering her condolences for the loss of her boyfriend, Charles. Honey was used as a medium to communicate between Jenny and Jessica, which she found difficult as she did not understand or speak Chinese. She was then saddened when she realized she did not know where her mother currently was. Shortly after, Honey became an investment partner with Jessica in the latter's attempts to invest in properties to renovate them and sell them for a higher price.[2] Within a week, they purchased a house and had it renovated, and prepared to have it sold on the market, with Jessica foregoing termite extermination costs as she did not believe in their existence. After angering a bunch of teenage boys, Jessica and the house became their target, with the boys initially drawing a penis on the dust of her minivan, with Honey informing her what it really was. On Halloween night, Honey stood on the property's porch dressed as Miss Piggy to help defend the house, although she left shortly after when Marvin arrived, dressed as Kermit the Frog, to pick her up as the pair has RSVP'd to an adults' Halloween party. As she left, she apologized to Jessica but told her that she still loved her.[3]

Honey was invited by Louis to "Huangsgiving", where she brought wine bottles. She unintentionally earned the ire of Evan though when she took his table decorations off his potatoes to place them on her wine bottles and later using them as finger puppets.[4] Honey and Jessica soon managed to get the termites treated in their investment property and were preparing to have it listed on the market. Honey thought that they should serve quiches at the open house and attend a team-building workshop seminar, which Jessica shut down as being a waste of money. Honey accepted this until discovering that Jessica spend $500 of their money every month on a fortune teller named Madame Xing, and wished to understand why Jessica thought fortune-telling was worth $500 a month but refused to spend less than that on quiches and a seminar. They then called Madame Xing, who warned them not to sell the property for three months claiming that there was "darkness" in the house that needed to be cleansed. While Jessica construed this as wise, Honey believed it to be a scam and berated Jessica for not believing in her ideas; Jessica replied that Honey's ideas were bad, Honey replied that she was a sucker for being scammed by Madame Xing, which led to Jessica immediately ending their friendship.

Honey was hurt by her actions and even more hurt when Jessica sent Evan to give back her belongings. Jessica soon realized that she missed Honey a lot and that Honey was her best friend, and not wanting to lose her, went back to her; however, as Jessica could not bring herself to apologize for her actions, she merely attempted to pretend like nothing ever happened, which Honey responded with by informing her that she could not do that and that their friendship truly was over. Honey then attended the workshop seminar only to find Jessica there as well; Jessica apologized and the pair mended their friendship. Jessica then forewent Madame Xing's advice and decided to trust Honey and put the house on the market, only for them to be notified that there was black mold in the attic and that they could not put the house on the market yet as it would take three months to eradicate it.[5]

As the Christmas season began, Honey did Marvin's makeup when the latter agreed to play Santa at Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse at the Huangs' bequest. It was also revealed that she spent a summer as a lesbian, and fondly reminisced on where Lorraine, the woman she had relations with, was and what she was up to. She was later contacted by Jessica for help, as Jessica needed her makeup expertise to dress up as a female Chinese Santa.[6] A few months later, as Chinese New Year approached, Jessica asked Honey to watch over the house and water the plants as the Huang family headed back to Washington, D.C. for the holidays. However, due to Louis messing up the flight date, the Huang family never went back to Chinatown, which upset the family. In order to make amends, Louis attempted to have a makeshift Chinese New Year celebration at Cattleman's and asked the workers and his friends for help; Honey, whose hairdresser used to be Janet Jackson's prop guy, procured Chinese lanterns. She then asked Jessica questions about Chinese New Year as they all enjoyed their dinner.[7]

The day before Valentine's Day, Honey and Marvin invited the Huangs for dinner at their house, although they left early to retreat to the bedroom for sex. As they were getting ready to turn in for the night, Honey asked Marvin if he had noticed that Louis and Jessica only seemed to speak about work and asked if they should take the Huang boys for the night the next day, thereby allowing Louis and Jessica to have a romantic night alone. The next night, Honey prepared sandwiches and walked into Marvin's office, hearing Marvin tell Evan his old war stories. As she asked him whether he had learned anything interesting, Evan revealed to her that she was not Marvin's second wife but actually his third wife, much to her shock. In order to escape from the situation, Marvin told her that he had to take the boys home, only for Honey to point out that she only saw one boy, prompting her to ask where Emery was, and Marvin and Evan left to retrieve him. As Honey was upset, Marvin had Evan and Emery return the next night to act as a buffer from Honey's anger. Honey then invited the boys to the kitchen to make sandwiches. Honey overheard Marvin talk to Emery about romance, and how Honey would make him eggs. Honey then forgave him and asked about his first wife, who was named Lucinda, and why he hid it from her, and he replied that he didn't want her to think that he was bad at marriage. As the two prepared to kiss and make amends, they were interrupted by Evan, who praised the goober grape peanut butter and jelly sandwich.[8]

Jessica began to get irritated as Louis kept crashing her "girl time" with Honey, as he was no longer staying behind to close up the restaurant, having defected those duties to Mitch instead. The pair attempt to hide at the Denim Turtle, although Louis follows them there, too. Honey asks Jessica if Louis was as 'present' in D.C. as he is now, and Jessica explains that he was not as he spent his free time playing pool with a friend named Hank. Jessica then finds three pool halls in their vicinity and ushers Louis to reinvigorate his love for pool, wanting him to find a friend, thereby spending less time with her and Honey, explaining to Honey that while Louis is friendly, he doesn't have a close or best friend in Orlando. Jessica is initially enthusiastic about Louis successfully making a friend named Tony and playing pool with 'him' at night, only for Louis to reveal that Tony is a woman. Jessica becomes irate at the thought of Louis hanging out with another woman, claiming that adults should not have friends of the opposite sex. Honey attempts to comfort her, assuring her that as it is the '90s now, adults could have opposite-sex friends, citing that she and Marvin were friends first before realizing that Marvin was married at the time and that he had cheated on his wife to be with Honey. Jessica and Honey make their way to the pool hall, witnessing Tony and Louis play, with Honey admitting that while Tony does look sexy, anything could be sexy with the song that was currently playing.[9]

Honey and Jessica, now having their investment property finished with their renovations, decided to list it on the market. Honey offered to take the photos for the listing, divulging that she helped the police department recreate crime scenes. At that moment, Louis came to them with lunch, and Honey relished the fact that she and Jessica both had supportive husbands. Just then, Marvin entered the room and asked where a specific shirt was, as he wanted to wear it for lunch at the country club. Honey responded that she didn't have time to take it to the cleaners as she was busy with the investment project, which Marvin seemed to be unaware of, and that he could take the shirt to the cleaners himself, although Marvin merely replied that he would just cancel lunch at the club. Honey then went and took photos of the house, although she took photos of items in the house rather than the house itself, such as zooming in on a roll of toilet paper, claiming that she wanted to sell the idea of a house rather than the house itself. After Eddie, Evan, and Jessica contract lice, Louis moves into Honey's home; however, Honey speaks with Louis and reminds him of all the hard work Jessica does for him, his mother, and at their home in general, and Louis leaves to take the photos of the investment house and rejoin Jessica once more.[10]

Honey joined the neighborhood women in watching a season finale of Melrose Place at Jessica's house, with Deidre wondering why Honey was there when she wasn't a fan of the show, to which Honey replied that it's because she was welcome at Jessica's house. While the episode aired, Honey endured insults from Deidre, as she and the neighborhood women still resented her for breaking up Sarah's marriage to Marvin and prompting Sarah to leave their neighborhood following the divorce. Jessica finds herself lacking excitement as she must wait until September for the new season of Melrose Place to air, and Honey suggests that Jessica buy a pool. However, all visible changes to houses, including pool additions, are subject to approval by the HOA (Home Owners Association), and during an HOA meeting, Deidre convinces the other neighborhood women to vote against Jessica having a pool.

Jessica, upset, teams up with Honey to find some dirt on Deidre, and upon sneaking outside of her house at night, witness that Deidre actually wears a wig. As Deidre had been claiming she used olive oil in her hair, which Carol-Joan had been using every night to the point of driving her husband to sleep away from her, Honey takes photos and presents them to Carol-Joan along with Jessica. Angered, Carol-Joan reveals to the two that Deidre has a secret herb garden, which is illegal to have as per the HOA manual, with the infraction being grounds for dismissal from the HOA. Honey smiles in her victory as Deidre loses her membership and the women vote to approve Jessica's pool and a cow mailbox that Lisa wanted to have, that Deidre had refused earlier. Honey then returns home, where Evan is waiting for her in the dark. It is revealed that she and Evan had been secretly working from the start to expel Deidre from the HOA, Honey doing so because she wanted the neighborhood women to shun Deidre the way Deidre had her shunned, and Evan doing so because he didn't like that Deidre placed her own self-interests above the HOA, having rejected Lisa's cow mailbox not because it broke any rules but merely because she did not like it.

However, Honey's actions are soon discovered by Deidre, who notices that her herb garden is not illegal as it was planted in 1987, with the HOA barring herb gardens planted after 1988, and realizes that Evan would have known this and therefore worked alongside Honey. Deidre exposes this to Jessica, although Jessica is not mad at Honey. Honey explains that life in the neighborhood was bad for her before Jessica came along, and that she didn't want them to turn Jessica against her, although Jessica reassures her that she would never do so. Honey then attends the next HOA meeting at Deidre's house, telling Deidre that she had stayed away from it in the past due to Deidre but that she would not allow Deidre to keep her away anymore. Deidre then adds that she understands why Honey did what she did out of loyalty to her best friend, Jessica, and explains that she is the same, having gone against Honey out of loyalty for her best friend Sarah, Marvin's ex-wife, although Honey is unaware of who Sarah is until Deidre clarifies, much to the latter's vexation.[11]

Honey tagged along with Jessica and Jenny when a man named Mr. Jaffrey visited their investment flip house and decided to buy it. However, when Jaffrey stated that he would just rent the house out as it would pay for the house multiple times over, Jessica kicked him out of the house and decided that they should become landlords, even though Honey was against it. Jessica assured her that she would take care of everything, and shortly after informed her that she had found the perfect tenants and that the tenants had given her a check, which she had cashed. As Jessica was preparing to cut checks for Jenny and Honey for their share, she received a phone call from the bank that the tenants' checks had bounced; wanting to hide this from Honey and Jenny, Jessica paid them out of her own account.

Honey was ecstatic at having her own money instead of her husband's money and used her share to lease a Ford Probe. Filling it with a full tank of gas, she offered to drive herself and Jessica to New Orleans, although Jessica refused. Once the tenants became squatters, Jessica confessed the truth to Honey, although Honey reassured Jessica and told her that it was okay to mess up, reminding her that Oprah herself, whom Jessica likened herself to, had been fired before going on to become successful. Jessica eventually sold the house to someone else and cut checks for Jenny and Honey's share, although she asked them to consider reinvesting with her in condominiums, with Honey agreeing after Jessica referred to them as "condo-money-ums."[12]

Jessica later informed Honey that Louis' brother, Gene Huang, was visiting them, and that she had only met him once in Taiwan where he made her feel uncomfortable. Honey asked if Gene had made a pass at her, citing that Marvin's brother Marlon was always doing that in an attempt to get some "vitamin H". Jessica then explained that Gene hadn't done that but that he had given her $200 while refusing to allow her to pay her back, which made her feel uncomfortable. Marvin then entered the room and announced that Marlon had booked a cruise for the two brothers and Honey, adding that Marlon wanted Honey to wear her bikini, which made Honey feel uncomfortable in turn.[13]

World Cup Watching

The families assemble to watch the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup

Honey manages to give birth to her second child, a daughter named Liza. She, Marvin and the children head to the Huang house and gather around the television to watch the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup. Honey is feeding Maria while Marvin groans about the game. The game concludes 45 minutes after going into overtime when Brandi Chastain successfully shoots a penalty goal against China, granting the United States team the victory. However, when Chastain gets on his knees and rips off her jersey in victory, the sight of her in her sports bra causes Evan to gain an erection, who flees the room.

Honey Ellis (6x1)

Honey seeks parenting advice from Jessica

The next day, Emery arrives at the breakfast table to discuss his electives for ninth grade. Honey also arrives, needing Jessica's advice as she cannot get Maria to eat anything. Jessica suggests tricking Maria, exemplifying how she gets Eddie to eat a banana right as he eats a hot dog, citing it as a way to get Eddie to eat fruit. Just then, Louis walks in with a copy of Orlando Tribune, with the headlines discussing the US World Cup victory and with a photo of Chastain in her sports bra. The picture arouses Evan once more, who flees from the kitchen. Louis observes Evan's unusual mannerism, and Eddie realizes what has transpired, informing Louis, Honey and Jessica that Evan has received the first case of the "tingles." He then clarifies to the confused adults that he is referring to an erection, prompting Honey to excuse herself and leave the house.

As Jessica is working on assignments at home, Honey enters wearing a clean, white blouse, gleefully notifying Jessica that her advice to trick Maria worked. Emery then walks by, muttering about his indecisiveness to pick an elective while Jenny's muffled questions reverberate throughout the house. Jessica states that she wishes Emery would just pick an elective so that she could concentrate on her work without distractions and complains about her mother-in-law, prompting Honey to reply that at least Jenny does not break valuable family heirlooms while gesticulating like her father-in-law, Mervin Ellis.

Honey & Jessica (6x1)

Honey defends herself from Jessica's hypocrisy

Sometime later, Jessica is approached by a loud Emery, who explains that he is projecting as it is a technique used by actors, revealing that he picked the Drama elective after speaking with Honey. This infuriates Jessica, who disapproves of the Arts, and she storms into Honey's house to berate her for her interference in Emery's life. Honey explains that Jessica wanted Emery to just choose an elective so that she could focus, and that a best friend did not ask for permission before trying to help a friend out. This prompts Jessica to tell Honey to stop interfering and to stay in her lane, which causes Honey to point out Jessica's hypocrisy, as Jessica has always interfered and stepped out of her lane when it came to Honey's life. As a result, the two women decide to do whatever it takes to "help each other out" without ever asking for permission.

Bugle

Honey has Marvin wake the Huangs up in the morning with his bugle

The next day, Honey enters her home and curses as she steps on several building blocks. Jessica then appears, revealing that she bought Maria various LEGO-like blocks to play with so that Honey could devote time tending to Liza; additionally, Jessica has invited Mervin and his wife Candy to help Honey take care of her daughters, much to Honey's annoyance. As he enters, Mervin declares that he loves what they've done with the house while flailing his arms around, causing one of Honey's vases to fall and shatter on the ground. Candy then tells Honey that her home is not child-proof, leaving Honey to mirthlessly "thank" her. Honey then retaliates by having Marvin play the bugle in the Huangs' house to wake them up every morning and gives Jenny a megaphone, which Jenny uses to annoy Jessica. Retreating to her room, Jessica finds Emery rehearsing to be Danny Zuko from Grease, which only furthers her disdain.

Jessica & Honey (6x1)

Honey and Jessica clash once more

Jessica storms into Honey's house to deliver turtlenecks that she bought in order to "help Honey hide her clavicles." She sees Honey dressed up, and Honey explains that she is dressed as Sandy Olsson from Grease as she is helping Emery rehearse his lines. Emery then shows up wearing a Letterman jacket and asks for help sewing a Rydell patch on it; both Jessica and Honey rush to help him and rip off the sleeves as a result, causing Emery to storm off. Jessica then blames Honey for the incident, and the two women decide not to be friends anymore. As Jessica prepares to leave, Honey announces that she would've lent Jessica her sewing machine, but would not now do so since they were no longer friends, to which Jessica retorts that she has two sewing machines, indicating her hands.

Mad Honey

Honey is confronted by Jessica

Jessica goes to Honey's house later and apologizes, informing her that she is not used to asking for or needing help. She elaborates that she is used to being the one who gives advice to Honey but must now accept that Honey has advice to give her, but adds that she would not need any help 98% of the time. Honey, smiling, replies that she would be there for Jessica for the remaining 2%, and as Jessica asks if they can be friends again, Honey accepts. Allowing Jessica to use her sewing machine and teaching her how to use it, Honey adds that Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon took high school drama as well, which causes Jessica to change her stance on the elective and to give Emery her approval.[14]

Honey & Marvin (6x3)

Honey congratulates Jenny on her 'retirement'

Honey attends her husband's retirement party at Louis Huang's Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse, and gifts him with a flagpole as a gift. She later attends Jenny's party at Cattleman's as well, congratulating Jenny on her "retirement."[15] After Louis decides to try becoming a tour guide, he takes Honey and her family on a tour through Orlando in his minivan. Honey tells Louis to pull over so she could pee, but he refuses. As her daughters begin to cry, Louis tells her to keep them quiet so he can finish the tour, prompting Honey to retort to Louis that no one cares about his stories and orders him to pull over.[16]

Marvin & Honey (Hal-Lou-Ween)

Honey and Marvin give out candy

On Halloween 1999, Honey, dressed as Buffy Summers, was handing out candy with Marvin to trick-or-treaters. They were soon approached by Eddie, Emery and Evan, and a confused Marvin asked who they were. After Evan responded and Eddie and Emery imitated him, Honey noticed that they were wearing similar outfits and correctly deduced that all three of them were "Evan." Eddie and Emery began to make fun of Evan, prompting Marvin and Honey to laugh while an insulted Evan walked away.[17]

Honey Ellis (6x6)

Honey asks Emery and Evan for a favor

Finding Marvin's constant presence at home exhausting following his retirement, Honey headed to the Huang house and asked Emery and Evan if they could spend the day with Marvin, arranging for them to spend the day fishing on his boat. Honey then spend the day at home with her two daughters, and struggled to open a jar from the fridge.

Sexism

"But the jar is stuck, so I'm gonna need you to reach into your purse, find your testicles, and open it."

Just then, Marvin, Emery, and Evan entered the home, and she thanked the boys for returning her 'jar opener'. She then asked Marvin to open a jar for her. Marvin, with Emery and Evan's coaching, told Honey that he respected her as an independent woman who could open her own jars. However, Honey told Marvin to 'find his testicles' and open her jar, and when he struggled to do so, asked him if he was on his period, shocking Emery and Evan with her sexism.[18]

Honey (6x8)

"When I need a break and they refuse to nap, I just shut off the baby monitor for a few minutes. Oh, God. Sorry. TMI."

Honey is at home when Louis arrives, bringing her lunch from Cattleman's as he knows it is hard for her to go out and get food with two young children. Louis mentions how Deidre crushed his dreams, and how she said he had no company due to having no clients or money, while also adding he has yet to come up with a company name. Honey suggests tuning Deidre out, informing Louis that when she needs a break and they refuse to nap, she just shuts off the baby monitor for a few minutes.

Seeing Louis' stunned reaction, she apologizes for the "TMI" only for Louis to say that he and Jessica did the same thing, albeit without a baby monitor; they simply increased the volume on their television louder and louder, and became hooked onto Mork & Mindy as a result. Honey is happy to hear that she is not the only one going through parenting issues and expresses her wish that more parents would share their experiences. Louis then suggests that she start a website, and Honey agrees, deciding to call it TMI: True Mommy Insights, with Louis offering his help.

Bored Honey

Honey is bored listening to Louis

Honey finishes writing and publishing her first post on the site, about how children don't need to be well-cleaned so long as the food on them is removed. After publishing it, they are ecstatic at the view counter that keeps increasing as they refresh the page, only to realize the views are their own. They decide to take a break, with Louis listing off various names for his consulting service, which bores Honey. Eventually, she decides to return to her computer and check the view count, and see that the post has received 100 views. Honey is glad that Louis convinced her to do this and that there are people listening to her maternal problems, and in gratitude goes through Louis' list of company names.

Honey (6x8)

Honey reluctantly partners with Louis

Louis is at home talking with tech support regarding the various pop-ups on his computer and asking about the $100 the pop-ups claims he won when Honey enters, notifying him that TMI has hit 1,000 page views. Louis then tells Honey that he incorporated her blog as a business and made her his client so that they could both be legitimate businesses. Honey tries to voice her opposition, but Louis construes it as her discussing payment and he tells her that he would not be charging her a cent. He then throws away the champagne she brought over to celebrate the 1,000 page views, citing that they were on the clock, and reveals that he has booked her a promotional opportunity on Good Morning Orlando. Honey is shocked and claims that she is not TV ready, but relents when Louis mentions that he's finally feeling good about his business now that he has his first client.

Honey Ellis

Honey on Good Morning Orlando

Honey goes on Good Morning Orlando, where hosts Gus and Mey-Mey ask her about her blog. Honey tells them that she did with the help of Louis and that he was backstage, only for Gus and Mey-Mey to point out that Louis was at the side with a microphone, and watch as Louis enters and joins the interview. Mey-Mey tells Honey that as a mother she enjoyed Honey's blog, and that she often ignored her child for days on end. This surprises Gus, who asks her about the child he never knew she had, and asks her how old the child is. When Mey-Mey replies that her son is twelve, Gus recalls that they slept together on a cruise twelve years and nine months ago and that when they returned, she swore off sushi and took a sabbatical from work. Mey-Mey then calls for a commercial break, with Gus exclaiming that he wants to know about his son and what his name is. Louis then gives Honey a sign with her web address on it and tells her to flash the goods on camera, clarifying that he meant her teeth.

Honey (TMI)

"They want me to say "scrumdeeleeumpcious?" I would rather scrumdeelee-stick my head in the oven."

Honey finishes writing another post about a 55-second rule for floor food when Louis enters and tells her that advertising opportunities have started pouring in since Good Morning Orlando and that she is being paid to write a baby food review, where she must use the word "scrumdeeleeumpcious" and use the promotional bullet points the company has sent. However, Honey refuses, telling Louis that she wants to write what she wants to write.

Mrs

Honey realizes Louis went behind her back

Honey hears a knock on her front door and opens it to find multiple boxes of baby food, with a note by the company thanking her for her review. Angrily, she storms into Louis' house, where he is once again on the phone with tech support, arguing about how his computer was frozen after he attempted to redeem the free trip to Cozumel.

Honey & Louis (TMI)

"I never hired you. You hired you. But now I'm firing you."

Honey berates him for publishing the review behind her back, and when he replies with "you're welcome" for making her a business a success, citing it as the reason she hired him, she reminds him that he hired himself and that she was now firing him. Louis asks why he is being fired, and Honey explains that it was because he published the review even though he knew she didn't want it posted. Honey states that TMI is her blog and not his, and when Louis claims that it was all done to help her, Honey retorts that everything she did was to try and help him since he was desperate for a client, but refers to doing so as a big mistake.

Honey Ellis (6x8)

"I've got so many ideas. The other day, I wore a diaper, and it was magical."

Louis heads to Honey's house and asks if he could use her computer, and she refuses as she does not want it to be infected with a virus. He tells her that he wants to show her the latest TMI post, revealing to her that he published her '55-Second Rule' post. He apologizes for selling out her blog, citing that it wasn't her and that he got so caught up in trying to be successful that he forgot that the job entailed supporting someone else and their dreams. Honey tells him that he will make a small business owner happy some day and he replies that she should continue blogging as she has a relatable voice, and she informs him that she would not be stopping as she has so many ideas, disclosing that she even wore a diaper the other day. While discussing company names, Honey suggests that he keep it simple with 'Louis Huang Consulting', a suggestion which Louis likes.[19]

Honey (6x9)

Honey agrees to lend her home phone to Evan

Honey is at home with Marvin when Evan enters, asking to use her home phone to call Alistair Cain the Science Brain as he needs to keep his home phone clear, since Louis is playing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Evan is his lifeline. Honey agrees so long as Evan lends her his belts next time she needs one, and Marvin throws their phone at Evan. Evan fails to catch it and drops both phones on the ground, only to find out that they are both identical.

Honey & Evan (6x9)

"Okay, Marvin's gonna call from the cellular phone in his car, and then we'll know which phone is which."

Honey explains that Jessica found a two-for-one cordless phone deal and bought them, just to sell one of them to Jessica for $5 off full price. Marvin then heads to his car to use the car phone to dial his home, so that Evan could know which of the phones is his, and Honey listens alongside Evan as he picks up the call. However, when Marvin on the other end reveals he is drinking the Scotch in his car, Evan gives the phone to Honey, and she leaves to deal with Marvin.[20]

Honey & Evan (6x10)

Honey runs into Evan at the mall

The day after Thanksgiving, Honey asks Eddie and Evan if they could keep a Navy sailor nutcracker safe for her; it is a present she intends to give Marvin for Christmas and wishes to keep it at the Huang house so that Marvin does not discover it before Christmas. When the boys agree, she informs them that she will back later to retrieve and wrap it. Not long after, Honey heads to the Orlando Galleria shopping mall where she spots Evan at the nutcrackers vendor stand, and points out how Emery is suffering in his stint as a mall elf, having witnessed him cry. Shortly after, she returns to the Huang house, where Jenny gives her the nutcracker, and she commends the boys for resisting the urge to play with it while thanking them for keeping it safe, unaware that they had broken it and that the one Jenny gave her was a replacement.[21]

Honey (6x11)

Honey interviews Jessica

After Jessica leaves Honey a demanding voicemail instructing her to give her a mock interview, Honey does so, although Jessica spends most of it criticizing Honey and having her make tea for her. Jessica mentions that she wants her interview to be perfect as she wants to be hired for who she is rather than what she looks like. Honey tells Jessica that after the interview is over, she should give a handshake if the interviewer is a woman, but an extended hug if it is a man.

Jessica & Honey (6x11)

Jessica hurts Honey's darts hand

Jessica then shakes hands with Honey, and hurts Honey's dominant hand, which she uses to play darts. Just then, Louis walks in and asks Jessica why she would ask Honey for help and not the business consultant she lives with, claiming that she wasn't kissing the gift horse on the mouth as Honey pointed out that it wasn't the correct idiom. Louis suggests to Jessica that she network with Deidre, since Deidre sits on the board of a private school, adding that he has a business relationship with Deidre as he buys $50 worth of hair products from her every month, with Honey pointing out that Deidre only sells women's products. He asks Jessica if he can help her get her the job of her dreams, and after a moment of consideration, Jessica agrees, claiming that it couldn't hurt and that Honey was doing terrible, berating her for taking 20 minutes to make tea.[22]
