Plot[]

This section needs a rewrite

Ever since Eddie's family had recently moved to Orlando, he's been trying to find some new friends he can relate to. While it may have been a rough patch, but one day, he found a kid that changed his life.

Three days earlier, Eddie woke up his mother Jessica and made her breakfast in bed. This is because he wants her to take him to a rap concert. The Beastie Boys! However, before he could finish his sentence, Jessica immediately declined as she doesn't like the fact that Eddie is a fan of rap and wished he was a "good Chinese boy". Eddie is bummed out because Jessica never supports his interests and style. Especially since he had asked to see the Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Doggy Dogg in concert but all were declined.

At Cattleman's Ranch, Louis gather up his employees and let them know the news of Mitch "leaving" and is now working at the Golden Saddle. Since they're one man short, he decides to start doing interviews to see if he can find a new host/hostess. Hector wanted the job, even though he's working as a chef already...

At Abraham Lincoln Middle School, Eddie was brought into Principal Hunter's office. He presumed at first it was about a sculpture he made in art class, but Principal Hunter let him know that's not the case. He wants Eddie to meet a new student for the day and show them around the school. Eddie points out he's only been here for a few months, but Principal Hunter says it's okay and believes the two of them will greatly get along just fine. Eddie starts to have suspicions that the new kid is also Chinese but Principal Hunter questions that question. He calls someone to go get the kid, whose name is Phillip, but refuses to say the description of Phillip making it harder on Shauna. But Phillip does make it to the office, and Eddie is happy to meet him since he's the first Asian kid he has seen since they moved. They greet each other and off they went.

After touring around the school and being teased by Walter, Eddie and Phillip sit down for lunch. Eddie learns that despite Phillip being Chinese, he was adopted by Jewish people and his last name is Goldstein. Eddie then tries to talk to him about his interests but everything he mentioned was something that Eddie doesn't like. They agree that they aren't compatible for each other, but the faculty and teachers think otherwise. Throughout the day, the teachers constantly made Eddie and Phillip do classwork or exercises together, because they think their "best friends". Even Principal Hunter used this opportunity to take a picture with them to get his ex-wife back. Eddie complained about how racist this was to Principal Hunter, to which the principal decided to start a new club called the "Pacific Rim Club". But that led to no-where.

Meanwhile, Louis is interviewing some people at his restaurant for the position as host. After encountering an animal activist, a cowboy named Wyatt showed up and asked for the job. After talking about his experience at a ranch he worked at, Louis knew he was perfect for the job, and thus he was hired.

Back at school, Jessica noticed Phillip when she was picking up Eddie, and decided to give him a ride. She immediately grew a liking towards Phillip after noticing he was Chinese, and him mentioning he liked to play the Cello and that he practices 5 times in a row and starts over if he screws up. Much to the dismay of Eddie.

Back at Cattleman's, Louis noticed that Wyatt has been making little changes around the restaurant. He fixed some of the tables, added some additional text to the no service sign, and even adjusted the specials menu so that way the customers see it first. And when a family came in for some lunch, he even lasso in the seats for them. While this may be good for business, Louis however, is unhappy of Wyatt and envy's him.

At the house, Eddie comes in when his younger brothers Evan and Emery ask him to sign a petition to help their hedgehog run for mayor. But Eddie calls it stupid in return. Jessica then comes in and asks Eddie about the snack she prepared for Phillip. He claims he didn't like it and wants the conversation about Phillip to be dropped. But Jessica is super happy that there is another Chinese boy in town and that the two can look out for each other. With Eddie hearing this, he realizes he can use Phillip to his advantage. He lies to his mom that Phillip also likes The Beastie Boys and that he needs someone to go to the concert. Jessica surprisingly agrees to this, and even tells Eddie that they can discuss it at their house since Phillip's parents want to thank them for giving Phillip a ride home.

Back at the resturant, Wyatt was entertaining some of the customers with his lasso. Then all of a sudden, Mitch decides to pay a visit after going on a bicycle ride. After Louis and Mitch had a brief conversation with one another, Louis asks him to come back because he misses his company at the place. Luckily, Mitch was thinking the same thing because they don't treat employees at the Golden Saddle like family. So now the hard thing Louis has to do is fire Wyatt. But when he went up to him, he couldn't do it and instead just complimented his performance.

Later that night, the Huangs are at the Goldstein's house, listening to Phillip play the cello. During the performance, Louis tried to get Jessica to fire Wyatt but she refused to do so because he always makes her do the dirty work and it's his own problem. At the dinner table, Mr. and Mrs. Goldstein tell the Huangs about Shabbat and what Phillip does to enforce it. During the middle of the conversation, Jessica mentions about The Beastie Boys concert and how the two boys would do just fine. After dinner, Eddie asks Phillip how come he lied to his mom about the concert. Phillip decides to make a deal with Eddie; he will go and see The Beastie Boys as long as he takes him to see Les Misérables earlier that day. With no other choice, Eddie agrees to the deal.

Louis has been struggling to fire Wyatt, he tries to practice with Evan and Emery, but he couldn't do it because Evan looked "too cute" and Emery claims his "but" fell off. So when Mitch was rehired at Cattleman's, he demanded him to fire Wyatt. He was hesistant to do so because he's never done it before, but agrees to do it in the end.

On the day of the concert, Jessica set some ground rules on what the boys are going to do look after each other, and what their going to do after the musical ends. After Eddie claims he already knows, she proceeds to give Phillip the money for souvenirs because she trust him more. But he couldn't handle any money due to Shabbat and asks Eddie to put it away for him. The two of them watch the musical together and while Phillip is captivated by the performance, Eddie was so bored he fell asleep! Once the concert ended, Eddie had to use the bathroom while Phillip waited in line to buy his souvenir. But as soon as Eddie was finish with his business, Phillip was gone! He quickly looked around the place but he couldn't find him. Jessica was upset with Eddie for losing him and worries he has been taken. So they quickly drove back to the Goldstein's house and luckily, Phillip was back at home safe and sound. He explained that while he was in the bathroom, he got to the front of the line and bought his t-shirt. And since he realized Shabbat was over, he decided to take the bus home. This shocked and confused the two since Shabbat should have ended at midnight, and the fact Phillip broke his promise to Eddie. Jessica calls him out on his behavior and claims he isn't the good Chinese boy she thought he was, and that Eddie is the perfect Chinese boy. Eddie praises her for defending him, and as a little gift, Jessica agrees to take him to The Beastie Boys concert the next night.

The next day, Eddie tried to talk to some of his classmates, only for them to make fun of him. He also sees Phillip again and rubs it in his face about how he can't keep him down. And as he continues walking in the hallway, he sees that Walter also went to see The Beastie Boys, and this lead the two to become friends.

At Cattleman's, we find out that Mitch never fired Wyatt, because just like with Louis he also found him too cute to fire. Even Mitch offered to Louis that the two can be co-hosts, but Louis let's him know they'll split the check if that happens. Thus Mitch quickly tells him he's fired and Louis quickly runs out of the place before Wyatt hears everything.
